I'm in the process of rebuilding the carburator for my 1958 Super Seahorse 35 hp.. RDSL-20. I found that the high speed needle is a bit scarred. I was wondering if anyone ever tried polishing the needle with lapping compound? There is a guide sleeve that is threaded onto the needle that should keep things centered. The carb worked 7 years ago, but it wasn't quite right and difficult to adjust. I think this might have been the problem. The needle doesn't need much polishing, but I'm hoping for a perfect, starts every time motor when I get finished. Thoughts?
Thanks
Tom
