I have a looper v6 that runs well. However I am having this issue with the charging system and tach working intermittently. Some days it works fine, other not at all or for a few minutes at a time.
It was a new rectifier installed and worked properly for one season then started the issue.
I've checked the ohms off the rectifier, I was told to wire it up to a household AC plug and see the DC coming out of it and couldn't get readings.
I've tried hooking the gray wire to either of the yellow wires coming from the stator and the tach does NOT function.
Also does not charge.
Is this a stator issue? I did notice maybe a bit of melt on the stator rectifier connection. Other than that it runs as it should. Thanks for the help.
Is Joe Reeves still on here? Appreciated.
