5HP for 19 foot richline?

I just bought a 1969 Richline alunimum v hull.I don't know weight.thinking about putting a mercury four stroke 5 hp on just to get there and back.Is this enough motor for boat? Thanks in advance for help.

on first impression, if you want to get there and back today, i would say no. not familar with the boat. can you post a picture? where will you be running it. a river, small lake? how many people? makes a big difference. need more info for good responce. welcome to iboats. just off hand, i'd want atleast a 25hp.

If you have a 12' or 14' Richline... A 5 or 6 will get you there and back. If you have a 19' then you need at least a 15 just for put-put.

You should keep in mind your 19 ft probably has<br /> a 20 or maybe even a 25 inch transom.The average 5 hp would be for a 15 inch transom.
