I just bought a 5ho Sea King. It runs good but the pull starter was not engaging. I took it apart and now I have a real mess. The engageing arms have small springs that retract the arm but one is missing and the tab on the ring is missing. Where can I get a new pull cord assembly.

From reading other posts I believ this is a Gale 51 5D10 as the model number is 15GG-9015 and the serial number is 387305.

I am also confused about the oil to gas mixture. I saw one post that said 16:1 and another that said 24:1 both using TCW3 rated oil. Can you clarify?

It's a 1951 and you're right about the Gale cross. Try tcoutboard.com for parts. I'd think 24:1 would be OK.

The springs are 202155 and the equalizer cup is 202114. Any Johnson or Evinrude dealer. But the current price is outrageous. That starter was used on practically every OMC single and twin motor built back then in the early '50s. There are tons of them laying around in parts piles. Just different housings for different motors. Place a free want ad on aomci.org Webvertize page.
