5L efi ....brand new rebuilts.....no start/spark

ok.....
i have a 05 5L (twins) with efi.

i just installed new ecm's......one engine fired and ran...the other didnt.

the non running motor has no spark.

i swapped the ecm to the non running motor.......no results.

swapped the two relays......same results....nuthin...

swapped the coil.....no results.

still no spark.

any suggestions as to where to go next?.....

post a serial number/model info for the engine and what type of igniton

looking now for the numbers.......everything was changed.....

as far as the ignition....im not sure.

5 amp fuse close to the battery (16 ga wire) if you have DTS that is

crank position sensor disconnected/faulty

fuse blown......changed.....still no spark....

(again thank you for the fuse tip....i was wondering what the heck they were......lol)

any other suggestions?

well those two were off the top of my head

i don't keep manuals/tech guidebooks at home so I can't use a cheat sheet for ya here

to fully t-shoot the crank sensor your gonna need a CDS computer - merc dealer

otherwise, just check over the dumb little things - in your case you have a fully operational unit/parts room right next to a faulty one, most people don't have that luxury

thank you.......we are running.

with out that fuse thingy i would still be hard at it.... !

while checking the "silly little things" i found the main motor connector (the main line from the helm) to be difficent.....i had to open up some of the pins with a screw driver....and wahoo !
the sweet sound of purring. but if you did not suggest the fuse......i would still be scratching my head !
