Found out recently that Florida has antique vessel registration. Requirements are for it to be at least 30 years old, have origional power plant, and not to be for commercial use.

I wonder how many other states have this option.

New York Dept of motor vehicles has antique registration for all types of motor vehicles. Not sure what the restrictions are but I'm sure you can find out online. Antique car plates in the style of the year of your vehicle are available too!

Not in TN. I saw that out of FL a few years ago and checked right away ... only to be disappointed.

Hey sasto, is that a requirement or just an additional option...like classic tags?

I'm guessing you all are paying a lot more than I am.

No antique or historical registration in WI.

Regular fees are:

under 16', $7.33 per year

16'-26', $12.33 per year

26'-40', $21.66 per year

over 40', $35 per year.

Don't move to Indiana if you love boating but hate giving the state your money. Boating here is truly a rich mans endeavor...or so the state would have one believe, according to the fees they charge!

While NV might not have state taxes, they get us in other ways...

Less than 13 feet $20
13 feet or more but less than 18 $25
18 feet or more but less than 22 $40
22 feet or more but less than 26 $55
26 feet or more but less than 31 $75

I shelled out $65 this year for my boats...

It's an option. Last year I payed $50.

I did some research before starting this thread in hopes of finding other states that have this option. I was unable to find others that participate. But, I wasn't sure.

aspeck....30 years is an antique, that would make you a fossil!

That's not NY......that's Long Island!

I live at the other end of the state and the fees are less here.

Also, the historical $25 fee is only for cars with historical car insurance. And that means you can't drive it daily, and to get the insurance you have to show proof of a car club membership. It has to only be used for shows, cruise nights, etc. I tried to do that with my 32 year old towcar and they said I couldn't tow my boat with it.

Yeah, yeah you can cheat Im sure but get in an accident going on vacation and likely your insurance would be void.

Nope. You got it right. Also the original registration is free from Federal Gov. Used to get it at customs in post office.
