6 pole on/off/on switch for bow/stern lights- Wiring help

I have read a bunch of posts on this subject, but I can never find a wiring diagram. I would like to wire my lights from the battery to the switch so that they will run together and so that just the stern light runs by its self. I know I need a fuse ( 10 amp inline) 6 inches up from the from the battery to the center positive on the switch. I'm just not sure where to go from there. This is on a 14 ft Jon boat with no other electronics except the ignition switch for my 30 hp Mariner outboard. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I believe this was recommended so a diode isn't needed. The part i am not sure about is the where the runs from each of the lights will attach to the switch.

Yeah.....2P2T or DPDT. Some use lit switches, ignore that #7 if your switch isn't.

Thank you for your help. Is there no run from the switch to the negative side of the battery? Like I said, I've never done this before so I just want to make sure I do it right.

You're very welcome, and nope, no need for ground at the switch unless you have a lit switch. Ground the lights to the batt's negative directly(or the ground bus) when ya run yer wires. The switch you have a link to will work just fine.

Where do I need to run the negative wire from each light?

I'm sorry, I skipped right over the last sentence in your prior post. Question answered. Thank you for the advise.

Typically guys have a main ground bus bar(lots of screws holes for common wires) that the battery's main "-" wire is bolted too where these type miscellaneous negative wire all converge at/too.

You can also, for simplicity, just run them directly to the battery's negative post if you like.

And np, we're typing at same time looks like.......GL

I run a single 24dc marine battery at the rear of the boat for starting the motor and I have a 27dc marine battery at the front that runs my trolling motor and depth/fish finder. The battery is in the front due to the clips that are on the power wires from the trolling motor. If I were to install a bus bar at the rear (since that's where the ignition and this switch will go), do I just need to run a small jump wire from the neg on the battery to the bus? Where would you recommend installing the bus bar on this small aluminum boat?

Nah, the wire will have a combination of all the devices current that hook to the bus run through it. Maybe like 8 or more like 10 gauge even 12 I suppose of marine grade for that boat and foreseeable loads would work fine...........Isolate the ground bus from the hull thou on like a phenolic board or something.....

Hmmmmmmmmm....

Damp wood conductivity = 1?10^3 to 1?10^4
Glass = 1?10^11 to 1?10^15
Oven dried Wood = 1?10^14 to 1?10^16

As long as it stayed "Oven dried" I suppose I'd sign off on it but damp at 1K to 10K? hmmmm, probably not the best but in a pinch? and a Jon boat? If it would catch more fish, I'd do it in a heartbeat, what the heck!!
