that manual worked amazeing.. got the boat idleing great issue im haveing now is when i put in gear the boat dies like its starving for fuel is that related too not haveing the correct idle mixture?
flyingscott im sure i dont have water comeing in i've owned this boat for 9 years motor ran strong like brand new when i parked it i pulled the carbs and cleaned them and created this problem im 100% positive its fuel and not water
Sorry, it has been a while, I got busy on my motor. If it dies when you put it in gear, according to everything I have read, you have one of two problems; float adjustment or timing. If it dies immediately, that would indicate the power is not there, so leaning toward spark. If it takes a couple or three seconds to die, more choking down than instant cutoff, I would lean toward float is set too lean.
Assuming that plugs are good and fire is good. Plugs can do that and so can weak fire.
that is, yes, too lean will cause it to die when you put it in gear. Be aware that too lean might be caused by the float though, if it is set wrong. Usually the idle screw setting being too lean will cause it to bog unless your idle is too low. You might have to idle it up a little.
