60 merc power trim

I have a 40 mainer built by merc. I am going to look at a 60 merc. without power trim. Can I use the mainer P T on the merc.

Sorry, my mainer 40 is a 95, I don't the year of the 60 merc all I have as of now is these two pictures.

That 60 is a 1984 if the brown wrap is original to the motor.

I thought the '84 60 had side mounted trim.... external rams but they are not shown in that pic.

Either way I think its substantially different than your 95 40 trim, which is likely single ram.

I'll try to confirm..........

Yes my mariner has a single ram it works fine. I guess the main question is, if the power trim dosn't fit, can the merc's engine be mounted on the mariner mount? I have heard that some of the 40 and 60's used the same blocks and other componets. Was hopeing that the mounting shafts ect.. was the same

AMD thanks for imput, I am not going to get the 60 unless I can put the power tiltand trim on it. The motor has been there for a while it will still be there for some time if I find out I can change it over to fit. Then I can still get it.
