60hp 1983 won't start

I was running my motor at full throttle and it died out instantly after a few minutes. It was not getting a spark to the plugs. The next day after it sat a while it started again. after running for about 5 minutes it died out again and won't start. I did leave the key in the on position about a month ago and it wore the battery down. The battery is now fully charged.<br />Any suggestions? powerpack, coils, ect??????

Sounds like a hot failure in your ignition system, grappler.<br /><br />Put her on the muffs, take the bonnet off and put a hair dryer on various parts of the ignition until one makes it quit when it gets hot. Most likely suspect is the powerpak.<br /><br />Good luck.

I was thinking powerpack also I can't start it again to check with the hairdryer like you suggested. Thanks for your reply JB, I'll probably start with a powerpack replacement unless anybody suggests more information.<br /><br />Thanks<br />Fishgrappler

I was right again it was the powerpack. should have saved some time and replaced it first thing!!!!!!!!!!!!!
