About to rebuild carbs for a buddy's boat. He had someone else "attemped to adjust them" since they were running bad (sat for 2 years, gummed up ect). I am going to dissassemble and clean them, was wondering what are good starting settings for the air fuel mixture screws? seat and back out 1 1/2 turns? Any help is appreciated.

It's best to check brfore removal and put back to the same setting, if it's to late 1 1/2 will work for basic setting.

It is too late. HE said he tunred them all the way in, 1.5turns, then back out 3/4 of a turn to get it to idle. The boat now idles (would not before) but will not rev over 2200rpm in gear. Sounds like the floats are stuck and he leaned them out to get it to idle, sacrificing enough fuel for top end? Is this correct? any other ideas?
