60HP Merc - Gear Ratio

[AMD Rules]

What is the standard gear ratio for my 88 60HP 3cyl 2 stroke Merc. Its the non-bigfoot model. ELPTO<br /><br />Newer ones are 1.64 to 1 .... same ?

Yes they both use the same gear set

Thanks Bob,<br /><br />Just to be sure I understand what "both" implies..... 2000 and 1988 model years use the same gearset @ 1.64 to 1?<br /><br />I am trying to determine theoretical boat speed, and need the gear ratio as part of the calc.

Yes, the parts book says from OB 1987 thru OD 1990 and newer use the same gears 1.64 to 1
