I currently have an aluminum 10 3/8 11pitch on a 16' Sylvan tiller. It planes the boat quickly and gets it up to 28 mph. I can buy a ss quicksilver 10 5/8 12 pitch for a good price. I like the current props performance, would the SS prop be much different from the one I currently have? Thank you in advance.

Need rpms.. that may be single most important number needed to determine what improvements can be made by swapping out.. also need max rpm window provided by maker of motor...

assuming you have a 1.83 gear ratio - then you are running around 5500 rpm. A 12 pitch would lower your rpm to around 5300 (or 5200 if the old prop was not cupped) but get you to 29-30 mph is my guess. the difference is not going to be huge in my opinion - but stainless is nice for shallow lakes. I did the reverse - i went from 17 pitch at 40 mph and with my 15 pitch i get 38.5 mph with my regular load.
