60hp yamaha 4 stroke-no response to start or trim

2002 60hp, 4 stroke was running good then, after stopping to fish, would not re-start, nor would tilt work--no response, no clicking-nothing. Battery checked good and found no loose connections at battery or in control box. What else could cause this? What should I check next? Thanks for any help you can give me.

High currrent cables, like for the starter and tilt motors, don't need to be loose to have bad connections, phillips. They often get corroded while still tight.

Take them off, clean thoroughly and reinstall.

Also, look for a main fuse or circuit breaker under the cowl somewhere.

Should be a fuse under the cowl. Check in the area of the starter solenoid. It is probably a blade style fuse like the ones used in your car and may be covered in waterproof plastic cover with the word FUSE on it.

HOw did you get back in? Did it eventually start? Start at the battery, remove both cables and clean with sand paper, then put them back on, got wing nuts? Make sure you tighten battery cables with pliers or wrench. most people think finger tight on wing nuts is ok, WRONG!!!. Then got to motor and clean the other end of the cables. I had a 150hp would stall out intermittently, all cables were tight. Had similar problem, no tilt, no crank, nothing. wait anywhere from 5 to 20 minutes, would start like nothing wrong. When removed ground cable from motor, the back side had a burn mark. Cleaned and re install bolt, problem gone.

See if jumping the solenoid works. If it does, it might be a bad fuse. If not you have a bad connection (probably on the motor).

Thanks to all for the input--fuse is the problem, but don't know what would have blown it.

I got back in using trolling motor and the wind---lucky the wind direction was favorable. Again, thanks for the help.

Where exactly was the fuse that had blown?
