Been looking for a pretty good size outboard for my 'Twain for some time now and found this on craigslist: It is a 60's-70's model 95HP Merc 6 cylinder Tower o' Power.
The guy claims that he took the motor off a boat of his for a diff motor and now it is quote "Taking up space in his uncles garage." He says it last ran a couple years ago and ran really well. He said he tried it the other day and it turned over but did not fire.
I know it needs a carb rebuild, but what else should I look for. I understand these to be great motors.
Any tips would be appreciated!
