My thanks to all those who replied to this thread. A special thank you to LD (Bassin Fever) and to The Oil Doctor.
I am aware that to many on the forum an oil discussion usually seems like a war, but for those of us, and they're many, who are not as knowledgeable and would like to be informed with a balanced perspective, i must say that the two of you fellers have always provided that service impeccably.

Thanks to all who replied, I think I'll stick with syn Mobil 10-30. I use it in all my other auto's.

Got a new question,

I am just restoring a 1977 Porsch 911, I have replaced the orig motor with a newer VW van motor, more HP, also I have spent lots of $$ to put fuel injection and electronic ignigtion in it. I replaced the two carbs with fuel injection.

What oil do I put in this car?

The car is probably worth around 20K, and that is about what I have spent to rebuild this car.

I love this Porsch, it is a riot to drive.

Thanks

Spud
