'61 Evinrude 18hp carburator float

Have been looking for awhile now to try and track down a new carb float for my '61 18 horse but all the rebuild kits I have been able to find do not come with a float and does not even list a part number if you wanted to buy one by itself. Can anybody give me the part number or where to find one or if another model with work with this carb. I do not have a manual for this OB yet which I know I need badly but trying to get this motor going again on limited funds so trying not to break down and spend the extra money for the time being.

There pretty universal for many models and years. BRP # 396514 is the updated, non-cork version for your motor (and many others). Most marina's will be able to order it from their BRP book. BRP is the current official OEM.

If you get the carb kit from a Johnnyrude dealer, it should have the float included.

If they are interchangable I have a '75 evinrude 6 horse that has lost compression and has a plastic style float and it fits in my 18 horse so i guess I'll just use it. Thanks
