62 75 hp johnson de carb

i did a decarb on 1962 75 hp johnson gray to black sludge leaking from above lower unit it looks like there might be some type of exhaust ports but i cant see because it looks to have some type of rubber mount in the way . book doesnt show any .this is on both sides. i can remove the back cover that has the big exhaust opening but this is behind the front part. any help on this would be great

the decarb did what it is suppose to, that crud was in your engine and exhaust leg, there are weep ports there to let water out of the leg. the gooo is probably more crud, use a small wire and try to clean out.
