what is red lever on throttel control and were should it be set . i know it is aspeed control for motor and it says to be set in the down position for start up but then what ? thanks for any help

It is a device to allow advancing the throttle for starting and warm-up, without putting it in gear as would happen if you used the main lever. Once started and running smoothly, return it to the full up position before shifting and getting under way with the main lever.
