Hey there everybody, an old man down the road has given me this motor. The serial is 1499226 and it is white, the only thing visibly missing is the gearcase/foot.

I assume they aren't very common, I can't find much online about them so I was wondering what value this unit has as a parts motor. If I could find a foot cheap enough I'd consider throwing together and if all was well I'd keep it, it's a very cool little motor ;)
Compression is 120 and 118 so I think it has potential, what do you think?

Thanks in advance for any advice, this forum has helped greatly in the past :)

Thanks carholme... I know Liskeard well, played music at Sam's and the George many times.

The links are awesome... gives me something to start on.

Oh boy, and I guess there's no way of telling if this one works without a gearcase huh?

So it's a Merc 250 then and not a Mark right?

No - the Mark 25 is in the bkgnd of that pic, the 200 is on the stand I made this fall. I used 4x8x3/4 plywood and layered it - 4 layers for the base and 3 for the upright, really strong and cheaper than the real thing (when you can find one).
