Was wondering what is the difference in these motors versus the non RX series motors? I picked one up today for $175 and it’s clean, electric start with harness, hood’s not all scratched up. 100 psi on both cylinders and spark jumps a 1/4” gap on tester.
Thanks

Not sure what you are asking, RX-xx signifies the 28-33hp motors 28 was built 1962-64 and it became 33 1965-68.

"non-RX could mean a whole slew of similar but different motors from the 1950's into the 1970's. If you are asking about parts interchangeability, you gotta be more specific

Careful F_R, now someone is gonna think they can Hop Up the 28 into a 33. The 28 while sharing the Displacement of the 1950s 25 HP and 30hp, uses a different Block? Same regarding the 33 and the 1957 and some 58 35 hp engines?

F_R, sorry for the confusion. I was asking about just the 63 RX model versus the 63 non-RX model.

Still confused. If you are thinking about the 1963 RD series, they are 40hp and RK are 40hp with electric shift. There are many differences between RX, RD, and RK. Yes, you can search and find some interchangeable part also.
