Thanks for the info, the "good reading" was exactly that. It looks like I'm in for a lot of work. I've read a few entries about removing the top, but am still puzzled. I haven't seen a step by step process for doing that. I've removed the rub rail and the screws and T nuts but the two haves are bonded and there is a 3" wide band of material on the inside that has been glassed in to hold them together. Looks like a dog to cut through. I'm thinking of using a demo saw and a thin blade. Can you tell I'm a newbie. Once I get the lay of the land and a feel for the materials I think I'll be OK. I'm good with tools , done a couple home renos, car repair, body work, plumbing, electrical, welding, machining and other stuff , but all non- proffessional.
