Got a fiberglass kit and worked a bunch of hours sanding and cleaning hull and used kit about 4 inches either side of large crack and so to make sure, as seen little drops in other places, decided to go ahead and do entire hull. Now there is a way to spend about 12 hours.
Today started sanding and cleaning the upper shell as the old gel coat is blistered and messed up all over boat. So one side done and other side in the morning and down pretty much to original paint which is now looks good sanded to about 220 and McQuires. I thought I was just taking off old wax and stuff but neighbor said it is old gel coat which he called clear coat.
I was thinking of repaint but not so sure now. Can clear coat be shot with hvlp 3 stage rig? I use it for finishing guitars and lacquer and used it to paint and coat deck. But fiberglass may be a different thing.
