There is a sensor in the carb that regulates the air flow & another manual screw on the outside that is factory set this should be checked every 200 hrs

Just checked in with the dealer again. They said that they serviced the carbs and set them up to spec. Also, they ordered a flywheel saying parts of the original was peeled off and rusted. I don't know why they didn't order one along with the magneto since they got that part and installed it. Hopefully that's all it needs and I can get it back later this week or next. Going on 7 weeks and counting without a motor. :(

lol Shows you how much I know about etecs. I thought doobie was directing his question to me and not durban. Makes me wonder if I sent my motor to the right dealer.

I think its an 08 and by carb they could mean throttle body..

As far as my "oops" comment, I had had a few and posted in the wrong thread and then edited it out.

Dealer just called to inform me that they finally got some power going into the ecm after installing new coils, stator and flywheel. What they don't have is power coming out of the ecm which I had to pay up front before they could order it. So far it looks like it's going to be a $2k+ repair. Ugh, not a good financial year so far.

Thinks it's the magneto????? Sounds to me like guesswork instead of disgnosing briefly problem.

Dealer received the ecm and installed it. Now they ordered a neutral safety switch. lol The mechanic did say all the parts they changed out had no continuity in them due to corrosion. The motor did sit on the beach through storms over the years I've had it. I'll have to remember to bring it home each time I come in from boating to keep the corrosion from sea spray to a minimum from now on.

After 3 months of waiting for my ETEC, I finally got it back today. The final price minus the shipping costs and the EMM, $422.33. The dealer asked and then submitted a warranty form to BRP for all the parts minus the EMM and got the OK. Nice. It's a bit too windy today for me to try it out but, the dealer did say they ran it for about ten minutes at different RPMs with no problems. I just hope it will be problem free for a while.

From the invoice that I received over the mail.

Replaced Ignition coils, flywheel, stator, ecm and neutral switch. All other parts installed tested defective because factory did not program emm correctly.

The last sentence was a bit surprising to me.
