65 OMC Paint faded

could someone tell me what are the steps involved to repair faded paint on the top part of a boat or do I just paint it ..

Is it paint or gel-coat?

Just read up on painting here in the restoration section and fire away with your questions.

What have you done to restore the current finish so far?

I don,t even own the boat yet just doing some research first ,next weekend it will be sitting in my driveway very cool looking boat for its age ,but very heavy
boat good thing for the 150 hp engine ............mite just paint it baby blue and white. Saw one guys boat done that way ,very nice job he did...

I,m not sure 1965 what did they use back then still learning so give me your info thanks Gary
