I pulled the boat out and got the motor running. I put on a set of ear muffs connected to the garden hose and got it running. Over the winter I had taken the carbs apart and cleaned them. Had to adjust the linkage. Restarted it and it ran fine. However I noticed some steam coming out of it. Pulled the gas line off to use up the gas in the carbs and after a couple of minutes the motor shut down as if I had shut the key off. Waited a few minutes and tried to start it again. To make a long story short I found that I had no spark on all three Cylinders. I looked at the ear muffs and found that I had not positioned them correctly and I was not getting enough water in the motor. The motor ran about 15 mins tops. My question is, if I overheated the motor would an overtemp switch cut out the spark or would the powerpack give it up because of overheating. I did not run it long enough for the motor to seize up. I don't think it over heated that much. I couldn't find the serial number for the motor but I think I know where to look now. I don't have a manual yet but will get one. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
