66 Evinrude 80 Hp Missing part

I just picked up my first boat I've ever owned, the lower case seems to be missing a part which would allow water to get in to the gear oil. Any idea what part I may be missing or where to get it? The piece I'm missing is right next to the water inlet. The model # is 80693c on the engine.

How do you figure water will get into the gear oil? I see nothing missing, except at some time a previous owner had a whale tail bolted to it..

Oh, and of course the prop nut is missing, But you already know that, right?

Here's a closer photo to the rectangular hole, that should be open like that? I assumed the little scoop that is the water inlet with screen is casted away from that rectangular hole and I'm missing some sort of cover. If not great! Lol

If you want the engine to run, at least above an idle speed. That great open space behind the water pickup(which by the way is referred to as the Exhaust Snout), is where the Exhaust comes out
