okay so I took it out to get it going for the spring as there is little hope left of ice fishing. I put in new plugs new gear oil new fuel line cleaned out the fuel pump on the motor. I re-built the carb in the fall but never got it going to adjust it. I started it up and it fired and started running. ran for about 5 mins than I started to adjust the low speed needle on the carb and as I tried to idel it down it just stalled out way before it should have. After that I could not get it to run again it would start run for up to 30 seconds and die. I put in a clear inline filter on the fuel line. I did not see any water or air bubbles in the filter. I am thinking it might be the fuel pump/filter on the motor but its a tough part to find and looks to run about 80$. thats a lot for me for a 50 year old motor does anyone have any ideas that might be less to try first. In the mean time I am borrowing a 7 horse honda from my father I will post on that forum about maintence to get that going so I will get on the water I hope but if I can get the big motor up and running all the better maybe I can trade it in for a newer model but I feel like my chances are better if its running.
