I might need to replace the fuel pump diaphram on my outboard but would like to know the difficulty of this job so I am prepared. It is sold in a kit that looks simple but would like some advice.

Disassemble over a pie plate so small parts are not lost. As with any fuel pump, always take note on how it came apart. Scribe one side of the housings so you won't be guessing upon reassembly. Some kits will not have instructions.

Good luck....:)

Grab the pump by one of the mounting tabs, in a vise, with the side cover up. Remove the six screws and gently lift the side cover off. There are two springs with diaphragm supports inside, one above and one below the diaphragm. Put it back together the same way you found it. Easy job.
