Im having a problem with the motor jumping out of forward gear under load. I possibly narrowed it down to replacing the clutch dog. I called my local johnson service center, and they told me I might need to replace the forward gear as well, requiring a donation of about $200.00. (im being scarcastic,
.....) Anyway, I read a post which stated I might be able to switch the forward and reverse gears. When I told this to the guy in the parts department, he told me that the forward and reverse gears have thier own part numbers. That tells me that they are 2 different parts all together. I want to do this as cheap as possible. Does anyone have any experience with this? Can the gears be "swapped" so to speak? Any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks....
