66 lark 8 impeller

Is it possible to install impeller with fins spinning in wrong direction? I just put a new one in and its not pumping water I ran it with no termostat and still no go. It worked before I took it apart.

No, the impeller will orient itself correctly when in use.

Unbolt lower unit, drop and make sure water pick-up tube is seated correctly in the water pump housing.

also check that the biscuit is properly placed in the shaft, and that the brass bushing is secure-sometimes they are not secure and the bushing spins but the impellar sits.

water pick up tube missed the pump when you reassembled......most likely scenario.
