Hey Fellas and Gals,
Alan here. Brought home a 1967 Starcraft speedster. Plate says 13' but measures way short of that. Two bench seats, covered bow. Wood has been redone on bow and must be replaced. Bow plate has handle on it. Rear transom plates also have handle as the 1959 12' speedster photo. I wish to restore. Need photos and info. Have looked at all the posts relating to Starcraft speedsters. Any assistance would be great. I removed transom, looks like a botch job on that . Holes drilled everywhere. Photos to follow. Also restored a 1950's Dan Kidney 14' Mahogany runabout.

Welcome Alan,

Cool project to start with. Me, I would keep my eyes open for salvage aluminum to use in your transom rebuild. Discarded street signs, if you can find them in a salvage yard, make for great boat repair

One thought, you might to want cap your transom from the inside and start with some fresh braces.

Actually the Aluminum stern is in great shape. Just a bunch of holes from previous attempt at transom repair. The photos I have seen of other Starcraft speedsters show a top transom of wood. No braces of wood. I think previous work added those. Photos of stern of this model would help with rear plate if any. Thanks
