Why did you replace the coil? It has nothing to do with the starter. None whatsoever. It fires the plugs only after the starter has spun the engine. So -- you have either a bad solenoid or the 12 volt current path from the engine, up the harness, to the ignition switch "B" terminal, out the "S" terminal and back to the solenoid is bad, or the ignition switch itself is not making contact (B to S terminal in the start position). Don't buy parts "hoping" its the problem. Check them.
