Here is an interesting tid bit. Like an idiot I bought a 2004 lxi without water testing it. I thought with 67 hours on it why would I need to? I see my error now.
After taking it out I realize it dies right when you put it in gear with vert little gas. I think, well, ill just bring it back to the dealer and have them tweak the carburetor. They then call me and tell me that I need a new carburetor!!! What the heck! They then told me I bought the boat as-is.
I remember back to the salesman "we sold the original boat and he did all of his service work here". Well if that was the case, then the marina knew about the bad carb and they need to replace it for free! After being told "that's a nice story I created" and the "as-is" part again, I finally said to the salesman "my brother is a lawyer and it will cost me nothing to see you and the real story in court". 3 minutes later, and I'm assuming the salesman calling the marina owner, the salesman tells the service guy to order me a new carb and have his guys put it in for free. Haven't been able to take it out yet with the new carb so I'm hoping they did a good job!
