Hi, it is me again with another query for the group.
I've replaced the impeller. It now works just fine. Hurrah and another thanks to those who sent suggestions.
The lower unit is now stuck in forward gear. The shift selector lever moves but does not change the prop direction. Is it possible to put the foot on the lower leg and have things feel like they're sliding together properly but still have the shift rod improperly engage the shift lever? Or, could I be facing another problem?
Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Re: '67 Merc 3.9 Hp single cylinder gear shift

While I hope I have your attention, does anyone know where to find a tilt/trim attachment for the '67 Merc 3.9 hp. I've been told it is spring loaded. Until now, I've been using a six inch long 1/4 OD grade eight stainless steel bolt with a washer and a wingnut. If ever I'm able to get the engine to engage reverse gear again, I suspect I'm going to want the proper fitting.
Any help appreciated.
