So guys just wired up my new choke and key switch. I was very careful to keep all wire ends from shorting on each other. Choke works great, key switch works well. I was jiggling things around before I tightened up the box and evertything was fine. If I turn the motor off and hit the choke button within a few seconds afterwards the motor stutters. Of I wait 5 seconds or more before hitting the choke it does not make a noise other than the choke click. I just want to make sure that this is normal and that I don't possibly have a short somewhere. The starter is not turning. I wonder if the vacuum that the motor makes is still in action and sucks fuel in the second I hit the choke.

Ayuh,.... If the motor is still turnin' over, yer causin' a rich condition, which leads to dieseling.....

If the motor ain't still turnin' over, it shouldn't do a thing...other than the click...

That's what I was thinking. Why do you think it does this right after I turn the motor off?

Are you saying that you shut the motor off, then you hit the choke and then motor shutters (after it has completely come to a stop)? If so, can you define the shutter. I mean is it turning over or something? Not sure I understand.

Well I was thinking that with the motor completely off it shouldn't do a thing when I hit the choke, but that's not the case.

Yea, right after the motor comes to a complete stop if you hit the choke within the first 3 or 4 seconds of the motor coming to a complete stop it sounds like the motor wants to start back up. It does NOT turn the starter, just sounds like it wants to turn back over. If I wait more than 5 seconds before I hit the choke again theorize doesn't make a peep other than the choke click. I will also add that the motor runs very well and on e it's warmed up it only takes a very brief turn of the starter to get her turnin. I just want to make sure that I don't possibly have an electrical issue here....

Well I'm not exactly an expert but this is an interesting problem. So let me dig into this statement: "it sounds like the motor wants to start back up". So the motor turns over but doesn't start?

Yes but whatever is starting it to turn over is not the starter. I will put a video on her if I need to

Hey dude your key switch is sticking in the start position. Spray some WD40 in the key hole a few times and it might stop. No but seriously you either have A) a terrible wiring job B) a bad kill switch ground or switch or C) Time for a new starter soleniod

Ok well wiring is clean and starter is NOT spinning. I just figured out that the little muffle it is making is trying to spin backwards. What would make a cylinder try to fire in reverse when the motor is turned off and quickly the switch is turned back on and choke is hit?

Ayuh,.... I've got a better question,.... Why in 'ell would you do such a thing,..??

Yer inducing run-on, or dieseling.....

Keep it up, 'n a bent rod will be in yer future.....

I figured it out on accident. When I noticed it it started to make me wonder. I don't **** around with my stuff I just didn't know if it was a problem or not. I was simply checking for a short in my control box.
