HI,
I'm going through the process of replacing all my feul lines on this motor and need to remove the starter,i have already have removed the two top bolts and the two nuts attached to the studs on bottom of the starter, but of course it still wont come off,so i removed the top bolt holding the main starter bracket but can not reach the lower one, these also look like they serve as crankcase bolts, what's the trick to removing this starter?

Also my tach is gone and wondering if i can replace the original tach with a different or newer tach using the existing wires coming out of my control box?

Thank you for the help,
PROPWASH.

The starter bolt trick is the right wrenchs and patience, to convert over to a alternator driven tach you need to move the tach lead from the switch box to the rectifier and you can use the plug on the front of the box to plug the tach into--Bob
