I recently purchased a beautiful rogue, with hopes of restoring it to its firmer glory. After a little research and self education, I found that the seats on this boat are foam injected with the Evinrude badge melted into them- I dont think its going to be possible to have someone re-do these, does anyone have an idea of where I can look for NOS stuff for this beauty, such as cavas and seats?

Send a PM to JDA1975 who is an iboats member and whose occupation is Upholstery and ask him.

As stated above you probably will not find any originals and will have to have things custom made............. ask someone who is in the business ;)

Are you talking about these emblems?

Yes and no. I have the blue seats, the emblems are in the same location but they do not look the same- they are also blue and either stamped on or melted/burnt in. There is no change in fabric, or even seams. It is one seamless piece. Here is some pics of the boat including a closeup of the seat emblem.

as far as how the seats were made, they use a form and lay the heated vinyl over the form, use a vacuum to create the shape and let the vinyl cool like that, then fill the cavities with foam, achieving a reproduction of this will require specialized tools, or you could attempt to create your own (untested by me)

The embossing of the emblem in the seat is done in a similar method as well.

Now that is pretty dern amazing. They must use the face side of a Evinrude emblem for that bit? I wonder if any upholsterers around my way have done this. After its vacuumed, then the foam must be sprayed into the fabric in another box-type mold, then removed from the box after it sets and fastened onto the seat frame?

I think for the emblem you would have to carve an emblem into a mold because it is and inny not an outy...but yes concept would be the same....honestly unless you are just looking to make a showboat with a proper restore, I would just have it done with a more modern look, you can have the emblem embroidered if you want and a flatter seat seems more comfortable IMO...Any good upholstery shop should have vacuum forming but it wont be cheap, they will have to build molds specific to your job

Re: 68 rogue II 210

I am considering restoring it for boat shows- price dependent hehe- but until this winter it will stay like it is.

Took this baby out on the water with the fam yesterday and it started running jerky- would intermittantly bog down. I took the air filter off the carb and looked in- it wasnt getting any fuel to the carb, unless I pumped it- each pump would squirt a jet in. Was completely running on fumes! I am going to take apart the fuel lines and see if I can find a clog, check out the filter- hopefully its not the pump. Also my sender isnt working- any idea where I can find one since Ill probably be in there anyways?
