My apologies for not posting my S/N or model # (yet). I don't have access to the motor, but wanted to get the thread up ASAP.

I have a Sears/Ted Williams 14HP that will not start. Took it to dealer in Minocqua WI in 1997 for repair, was told I had blown the pickup coil and they were not available. Inet searches have never turned up anything, but then I haven't looked in a few years.

The rest of the motor is in great shape (or at least was when it was stored). I need to locate a 'pickup coil' (is that like the condensor/points on an outboard?) for this motor if anyone can help me.

68 Sears Ted Williams (made by Scott)
14HP / White, square engine cover
Will try to post S/N when I can get to the barn it is sitting in. (Almost threw it away a year ago when I moved! Thought I'd ask for help one more time!)

No, its watercooled made by Scott and not Eska. :( I'm hoping ScottGuy is going to come through... Haven't heard from him in >24H and I'm holding my breath. (I hate to dump a low hour motor over these stupid cracked coils!)

But THANKS for the suggestion!
