I am refurbishing a 9 HP Sears Ted Williams. I pulled off the lower unit and replaced both impellers on it. Now the problem I'm having is this:

The end of the drive shaft is notched for the pin to engage the gears in the lower unit. How the heck are you supposed to get that pin in place especially when its at the bottom of a 7" tube. Am I going to have to take apart the propeller shaft housing and work from there? Any ideas?

Thanks

Hi Hafnerj
Ted williams was a Sears brand name. They labeled all sorts of motors and other things with it. If you could post the model# of your motor maybe we could help. I have no idea if your motor is a McCulloch,West Bend,Clinton. or? The list goes on.
