69 erude115hp stater motor question HELP!!!

hey guys..
i had a problem with my stater the spacer broke so the gear spun past the flywheel,i took it apart and fixed it ,but now the stater motor works in reverse
it spins cw how do i get it to spin ccw ether that or i got the worm gear on upside down ???

The gear is upside down. The only way to reverse how the motor actually spins is to reverse the voltage.

no actually the gear only works one way,so i took the bottom off and i had the 4 magnets all in backwards and upside down un did that and sure enough ccw rotation hmm didnt think that would matter..thanks for your response though

That is a series wound motor. The only way to reverse it is to reverse either the stator winding or the armature winding. I suspect that you have the brushes wired backwards.
