Just started my motor yesterday after a long, cold winter. It started, however, my recoil stopped working over the winter. Obviously, I do not wish to manually rewind my my pull cord every time I start my motor, does anyone know what I can do? Does it maybe need some wd40 or oil, or is it probably a part that will need to get replaced.
(I just got this motor from my grandpa last year, and its my first boat motor) Any help or advise will be greatly appreciated.

Try some oil first. Might be just rusty. Avoid getting much oil on the cord (oil will transfer to your fingers and screw up your fishing!)

can I use wd-40, or should I use a special kind of marine oil? Thanks for your fast response.

WD-40 is good stuff (except for it evaporates after awhile). Use the little nozzle and direct the oil inside the spring housing.
