I have a 1969 Evinrude 85Hp. It will start and idle, but the idle is hard to control, it either wants to rev or stall until it is fully warmed up. When I give it more than 1/2 throttle it will bog, sputter, misfire etc. I have also noticed a few drips of fuel coming from the "air box" on the inlet side of the carbs.
I have already put in new premium gas, replaced both sets of points, new wires to the points/ ground to point mounting plate, new plugs, new rotor and the ignition amplifier was replaced last year. None of these parts have had any effect on the poor running condition.
If anyone has some advice or would like to point me in the right direction, it is much appreciated. Thanks.

If you are dripping constantly it sounds like the needle and seat in one or both carbs are worn or sticking. Rebuild the carbs!

I think it is a stuck float valve. Your carb is flooding.
Maybe there is an air leak too. New garb gaskets or a complete carb kit.
