69 lark 40

hi guys... will my evinrude lark 40 do good pushing my 15' chaparral tri hull....
how much pitch on the prop should I need. the motor is a 1969 model number#40973 where can I get a throttle cable.... thanks

It should push it ok with a small to average load.Take it for a test run with present prop.Give us prop size,and the present max rpm and speed.
Unless someone has the same setup its the only accurate way to make a prop adjustment.If you need a tach check out the Tinytach.Reasonable price easy install.

The stock 10 1/2 x 12 prop that came with the motor will probably do just fine. They assumed that it would be used on a boat of that catagory. Besides, those tough old dogs were pretty forgiving.

Get the cable right here at iboats.

I once had a '69 johnson 40hp with a stock prop. It pushed my waterlogged 16 foot fiberglass hog trough loaded with all kinds of weight with no problem. It seemed outrageously powerful, although not very fast.
