I have a neighbor with a few outboards that I work on for him from time to time. He brought me one over that needed a new plastic starter gear since the teeth were chewed off the last one. He did me the "favor" of taking it all apart first, and now I have it all back together, but have to idea where the little metal rod that holds the spring tension for the recoil goes. Anyone got a pic or diagram how this system is supposed to work?
