Re: 6hp Seahorse

Hi
I am surprised the admiral or whatever did not pick up that I had given you
instructions for the 4hp.
Glad I'm not in his navy !
Ray

Looking at the title of this post, I am sure he is just as glad....

Re: 6hp Seahorse

Thanks for all the advice guys.

I had been inadvertantly running a j4c intil last August & I checked Champion's website and they show a J8C which made a huge difference and the plugs don't foul anymore, just runs rich at w.o.t.

I will re-check the points haven't done that in a while.

I don't yet know if the seat for the richness needle is damaged yet. I haven't had a chance to re-insert the needle to see if I run out of thread before the needle seats.

I've checked the float and I'll do so again.

Thanks for all the help guys! If I make it to the water this weekend I might be able to give these suggestions a try!

That's a pretty hot plug for your 1965 motor; currently the recommended plug is the Champion J6C.

That site is not officially Champion, and it certainly is not recommended by BRP/Evinrude.
