6hp seaking wont start please help

was sitting for some time i cleaned the carb and replaced spark plugs it sounds like it wants to start but wont it gets plenty of fire from the plugs to its kinda baffleing

How did the float look in the carb?

lookes fine i also tried to put gas straight into the carb nothing

Have you done a compression test?

no but it sounds like it should so i dont think theres any need plus i dont have a tester

If you're pretty sure you cleaned all the jets and passages on the carb when you had it apart, and you have good spark, and compression seems good...It's probably that ole nasty fuel pump diaphragm like mine was. It had 3 cracks in it.
iboats sells them cheap, that's where I got mine from. ($7.00 fix).

My Chrysler 6hp sat for 20 years in my shed, and a new impeller and fuel pump diaphragm got her back on the water. Runs like a swiss watch now. You can't kill these lil buggers!
