its a 66 6hp seaking model vwb19074a serial 66x11816 i have changed all gaskets so i know its getting good compression it had alot of guk in it i cleaned cause by the time the gas got to the combustion chamber it was black but still wont start so now im gonna clean the magneto even tho i get plenty of fire doing that today and suggestions?
What do you mean by you "changed all gaskets?" All? Every one? What made you do that?
The only way to know what the compression is required a compression gauge. You haven't mentioned the carburetor at all.
See...figuring out why your outboard won't start is a step-by-step process. Before doing anything, you need to know why you are doing that thing. First step is to check compression with a proper gauge. Second step is to check for a strong spark on both cylinders. You said it had good fire. How did you determine that?
If both of those things, compression and spark, are good, then it's time to move on to fuel delivery. You start by spraying some fuel mix (not starting fluid) into the carburetor throat and seeing if it'll fire. If that works, then you need to disassemble and clean your carburetor, making sure every orifice in it is clean and that the float is set properly and the needle and seat are working correctly. A Carburetor kit contains a needle and seat and all other parts you need to do a proper job.
You need to make sure that the fuel is getting to the carburetor, too. You can test the fuel pump by simply disconnecting the hose from it to the carburetor and turning the engine over. Fuel should come out. Sometimes the problem is in your fuel tank or fuel line or bulb.
Once you sort out all of these things, your engine should start and run. Until you have gone through all the steps, in the proper order, as I have described them above and as is described in that FAQ you were aimed at, we'll just be telling to to follow those steps.
I don't work on Chrysler outboards, so I can't give you detailed instructions on that outboard. You can get a service manual for your outboard right here on iboats. It will show you how to do those steps.
We don't have a magic wand here. We can't see your outboard. We have to rely on you telling us everything you have done and everything you've found if we're going to help you.
