6hp Vs 8hp

The Max recomended Hp for my 10ft Dehavilland is 6hp. Would a 6hp be able to push the boat to 15 Knots with 2 people on board or would i need to buy an 8? Also could i put an 8hp power on a boat thats max hp is only 6?<br />Thankyou

What engine are you thinking of? I doubt there is much weight difference in the two(Maybe 5 Lbs or so), so I doubt it would be a problem to go with the 8HP. I do not know if it would do the job with 2 people aboard..
