obviously your going to have to pull the flywheel and do as I suggested in your first post,,,or use your tongue instead of your hand...I promise you will feel more spark

Lots of these guys know more about outboards than I do but I'll throw my 2 cents in any way. When in doubt about spark I connect the sparkplug wire to a good clean plug, ground the threads to the block and pull the cord. If it ain't blue spark then there's a problem. Your problem would be easier if you had no spark at all ... then I'd say get a condenser. Here's one way to check a condenser...using an ohm setting on the multimeter. Connect the redlead to the wire and the black lead to the case of the condenser. This will charge the device. Now quickly switch the leads and set the meter to a low voltage DC scale, again very quickly. You should see a momentary spike of voltage.

Points need to be clean (not pitted), and close completely. There should be no resistance.

Maybe this will help too.... CDI's troubleshooting guide.

I had pretty much the same problem and after changing the coil and condenser I had a steady fire. Then after a carb kit and new impeller, I have an engine thats worth at least the parts I have in it! LOL(but it runs sooooo nice)
